Hiring Immediately, Human Resources Specialist

Driver’s Village, a World Class Transportation Provider, continues to grow and we are seeking a Human Resources HR Specialist to join our successful team. If you like working with people – even if you have no automotive experience – this career is for you!

Driver’s Village represents over 17 automotive franchises, serving hundreds of customers each month. We’ve been making customers happy for nearly 85 years, by providing safe and reliable transportation.

Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Consistently fosters a positive work environment based on the company’s core values and mission/vision statements.

  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding processes.

  • Works closely with the HR Director

  • Work cohesively with the Payroll Department.

  • Performs exit interviews and new hire follow ups.

  • Uses business knowledge and Human Resources expertise to function as a consultative partner with the Managers for addressing performance, progressive discipline/corrective actions.

  • Identifies, researches, and utilizes a wide range of labor and employment law standards to ensure employee relations matters are handled within the applicable laws, policies, procedures, and best practices. Ensures compliance with labor laws, regulations and company policies.

  • Reports issues with senior leadership and ensures that issues are properly documented from start to finish.

  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and resolve any issues that may arise.  Reports any issues to HR Director

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.

  • Assists Managers to resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations with Managers.

  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.

  • All other duties as assigned or required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Assists Managers with discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy and law.

  • Provides direct supervision to one or more employees.

Applicants Should Meet or Exceed these Requirements:

  • 3-5 years in an HR office

  • Proficiency ADP Workforce Now is desirable.  Proficient in Excel, Word, etc

  • Knowledge of PFL, FMLA, WC, STD and LTD is preferred.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based HR practices and state/federal labor laws.

  • Ability to handle sensitive or emotional situations with courtesy, confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range:  $45,000 – $65,000
